Joining hands to realize the global Net Zero goal, on December 7, 2023, Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (TTC AgriS, HOSE: SBT) launched the "TTC AgriS: 10 Million Trees - Embrace Green Future" Project. Over 10,000 trees were simultaneously planted by TTC AgriS on the launching day in provinces and cities where the company operates in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

This annual campaign is an important part of the activities under the "Sustainable Development Commitment - AgriS Commitment" announced by the company since 2023, aiming to pledge the roadmap towards the Net Zero goal by 2035.
TTC AgriS's Net Zero 2035 roadmap is a combination of various environmental initiatives on a multinational scale, such as the project to plant 10 million trees, the use of 100% biomass from 2025, combined with a 5% greenhouse gas reduction per year from the Sugar Production, Fertilizer, and Agriculture sectors. Among them, the project to plant 10 million trees was officially launched by TTC AgriS on December 7, 2023, and will be implemented synchronously globally until 2030
The number of trees will be allocated from 800 thousand to ~2 million trees per year, with an estimated absorption of over 110,000 tons of CO2 by 2035 and continued accumulation in the future. TTC AgriS has carefully selected and ensured the suitability of 9 types of trees for the climate and soil conditions in each region, while also providing economic value to the local areas (such as Acacia hybrid, Melaleuca, Eucalyptus, Dalbergia, Dalbergia oliveri, Aquilaria...). The plan to monitor the planting progress and growth journey is also strictly implemented to optimize the CO2 absorption capacity of the trees (including regular tree health checks, reporting growth parameters, on-site image materials...).

In addition to the proactive tree planting activities in August and December each year, throughout the "TTC AgriS: 10 Million Trees - Embrace Green Future" Project, TTC AgriS will also organize activities to call on partners and customers to spread the spirit of responsibility in accompanying Vietnam towards Net Zero. This will help build a common exchange platform for reputable units and organizations engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in Vietnam, as well as collaborate on professional consultation and establish a monitoring framework to assess emission reduction levels.
The initial phase of tree planting under the project will be implemented in areas such as factory locations, agricultural forest land, and raw material regions of TTC AgriS across Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Australia, taking advantage of existing soil fertility, irrigation water sources, etc. Subsequently, expansion will continue in areas such as hilly terrain and forest land, with the involvement of local communities nationwide. It is noted that Tây Ninh has been chosen by TTC AgriS to launch the tree planting project, benefiting from the province's agricultural advantages, abundant water resources from the Saigon and Vam Co Dong rivers, along with extensive land resources.

On the launch day, the member units of TTC AgriS also simultaneously engaged in tree planting, receiving active support and participation from local authorities in areas where the company operates. This collective effort elevated the total number of trees planted in the project to 10,000 across the entire country and neighboring countries, including Ninh Hoa, Phan Rang, Gia Lai, Kratie in Cambodia, and Attapeu in Laos.
"The tree planting activity on the launch day of the project saw the participation of nearly 2,500 employees of TTC AgriS, along with representatives from local authorities in provinces and cities where the company operates."
The launch ceremony also provided an opportunity for TTC AgriS to strengthen its collaborative relationship with local authorities in various provinces during environmental campaigns. On this occasion, TTC AgriS donated 250 million VND to Tây Ninh province to support its continued participation in the 'Plant One Billion Green Trees from 2021 to 2025' initiative, as called for by the Prime Minister. This aims to amplify the effectiveness in parallel with the 'TTC AgriS: 10 Million Trees - Embrace Green Future project.
In a speech during the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Chien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tây Ninh province, underscored the profound significance of the 10 million green trees project spearheaded by TTC AgriS. He commended its crucial role in advancing afforestation and expanding forested areas, aligning seamlessly with the governmental directives. Acknowledging the collaborative support of TTC AgriS in aligning with the 'Plant One Billion Green Trees from 2021 to 2025' initiative led by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, he expressed confidence that this ongoing partnership will continue to yield enduring benefits for the community. Their joint efforts aim to elevate environmental awareness and mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change effectively."
